Getting smooth edges on a cake is a cinch if you have acrylics or have mastered traditional icing methods, but what if your cake is shaped oddly?

When trying to smooth ganache on a contoured cake, going over it can quickly become excessive to get a smooth finish. Save yourself the hassle and cut a square out of the top of an oatmeal or shortening container!
